On April 27, the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union organised an online opening of Workers’ Month 2021 with the participation delegates at 67 venues nationwide and its affiliates in Laos and Cambodia.
During the month, the union focuses on key activities to carry out 75,000 initiatives in overcoming difficulties and boosting the sector’s development, sharing with rubber employees in difficult circumstances and honour outstanding labourers with the title of "Outstanding Rubber Worker".
In addition, the organising committee awarded 60 houses worth VND50 million each to difficult workers, as well as visiting and giving gifts to employees in Laos and Cambodia to help them prevent and combat COVID-19, in addition to offering reproductive health check for female workers in the Northwest region.
On the occasion, the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union commended 14 typical workers and employees in Ho Chi Minh City.
* On the same day, in Hanoi, the Trade Union of the People's Public Security held a conference to offer key trade union staff information about the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress to be implemented at trade unions at all levels in the sector, in accordance with the characteristics and background of each unit.
* Also on April 27, the Trade Union of the People's Public Security held a seminar to discuss the current situation and solutions to improve its organisation and operation.
* The Vinh Yen City Labour Confederation (in Vinh Phuc Province) has cooperated with the city’s Centre of Culture, Information and Sports to organise a sporting festival for workers and employees in the city, attracting 130 athletes who are cadres, civil servants and public employees of 50 local trade unions.
* Nearly 2,000 employees from 24 affiliated grassroots units under the Hai Phong City Trade Union have gathered at the launching ceremony for the 2021 Workers’ Month and Occupational Safety Month in the northern port city.
At the event, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union coordinated with the city’s Red Cross Society to organise a blood donation drive, attracting more than 1,000 union members, in addition to a job festival for local women affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as providing health care counselling for mothers who are nursing children under 36 months.
On the occasion, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union awarded nearly 600 gifts and allowances to workers in difficult circumstances. Of which, 20 workers received benefits right at the launching ceremony, each worth VND4 million.
