“Spring Volunteer campaign 2018” heats Da Mi highland commune

BTO - As many as 60 students from the IR4C Volunteer Club - Faculty of International Relations of HCMC University of social Sciences and Humanities arrived in Da Mi commune, Ham Thuan Bac district, Binh Thuan province within 4 days (from February 5-8) under the Spring Volunteer 2018 campaign. The meaningful activities aimed to help the locals and students celebrate a cheerful Lunar New Year 2018.

In the cool atmosphere, the volunteers have brought a number of attractive activities and warm gifts to the remote area, where is about hundreds of kilometers far from the Ho Chi Minh city. Those activities are: Spring painting, Cooking Spring Meals, Spring Garden, Childhood Festival, Gift-giving Policy-favored Households, basketball skills classes, martial arts, scholarships giving, exchange Sports, etc.

The campaign also brought to Da Mi people two new works, including: “Outdoor Library” with more than 1,000 reference books and children’s stories, etc and a “Childhood Playground” which is equipped with numerous sporting equipment, badminton, net for the a healthy and dynamic playground for children.

Also be included in the program, some 170 blankets, 16 Tet gifts were handed over to the families with difficulties. Additionally, other presents such as: 1,000 notebooks, toys, 70 Chung cakes, 20 kg jam, 20 kg of  pickled scallions heads and many clothes were offered to both children and adults in the locality, tightening the people in the mountainous area with the young generations.

On the night of February 7th, a Gala night to raise fund for the locals was held by the young students with the amount of VND 17 million. All daily tiresome and anxiousness ceded friendly atmosphere and joyful music night amid the mountain and forests of Da Mi.
