Ramuwan festival of Cham people

Ramuwan festival is annually held in every three months and is counted down to the end of the year. This is a typical festival of Brahman Cham people. It is full of religious features and is also folk belief, which has been preserved and inherited for ages.

Ramuwan is closely  related to each individual’s life from womb to tomb, which is recorded in Dai Nam Nhat Thong Chi book. This festival consists of many religious rites, and involves  many different stages like Sut Amuram (festival prayers at the beginning of  the year), Sut Yang (rotating festival prayers), cleaning and decorating  our ancestors’ graves Ramuwan month, Va Ha festival… All of them are Cham people’s traditional rituals that have completely been preserved up to now. Besides formal rituals, tourists at this festival can enjoy extremely impressive folk ethnic music performances.
