The programme, hosted by the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), was attended by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and MOLISA Minister Dao Ngoc Dung.

It is held annually on the eve of Tet (Lunar New Year) festival in order to bring a warm and happy Tet to children in need.

Addressing the event, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, who is also NFVC Chairwoman, highly appreciated kind-hearted organisations, collectives and individuals for their donations to the Fund over recent years, helping to care for children across the country, particularly those living in difficult situations.

She called for joint effort and more practical activities to the care, protection and education of Vietnamese children, who are the future masters of the country.

At the programme, seven collectives and individuals were presented with MOLISA Certificates of Merit for their significant contributions to the protection and care of children.

Earlier the same day, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh met with a delegation of the NFVC, during which she stressed that the Party and State always attach special attention to protecting and caring for children.

She applauded the NFVC for promoting its role in raising people’s awareness of child protection while actively coordinating with functional agencies in providing better care and protection for children.
