The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Duong Van An- deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Mrs Bo Thi Xuan Linh-Chairwoman of the provincial Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front.
On behalf of Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee, Mrs. Vo Thi Dung handed over VND 500 million to Binh Thuan authorities as an assistance for local residents to deal with lack of fresh water and production losses due to prolonged drought.
On that occasion, the delegation gave 100 gifts (worth VND 1 milllion each) to poor households of ethnic minorities and policy-favoured families in Dan Hiep hamlet-Thuan Hoa commune (Ham Thuan Bac district), one of the places suffering the hardest hit by drought in Binh Thuan province. Mrs Dung shared that “These are meaningful gifts from officers, people and soldiers of Ho Chi Minh City to help Binh Thuan people overcome difficulties. We hope that the situation would be improved soon and local people could resume agricultural production”.
Mrs. Bo Thi Xuan Linh, on behalf of Binh Thuan’s authorities and people, highly appreciated practical support of Ho Chi Minh City. She expressed her hope that Binh Thuan would received support from Ho Chi Minh city on boosting socioeconomic development.
The fund is expected to be disbursed in order to allocate to people suffered from drought in many localities in Binh Thuan province.
