Local youth taking part in voluntary blood donation campaigns
The decision aims to recognize merit of blood donors and agencies engaging in mobilizing blood donation, give prominence to humane values and lofty actions of “give blood to save lives of people in need”, hence spread and encourage the practical blood donation movements among the community. The regulations must be implemented basing on traditional culture of Vietnamese people, so blood donation is merely voluntary and people who have given blood get rewards in kind.
Individuals who have more than 10 times of blood donations, can receive certificates of merit granted by the district’s /city’s People’s Committee or the provincial Red Cross. If you have made more than 20 times and 30 times of blood donations, you will be recommended to be honored by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam Red Cross. An order of merit will be conferred to person with 40 blood donation times. Those who have 70 donation times will get a silver donor card or a personal badge, and recommended for the PM’s certificate of merit. Especially, people who have donated blood for 100 times will be recommended to be offered golden donor cards and personal badges recognizing 100 donation times. They also have chance to be honored by the Party and State’s leaders.
Gifts and acknowledgements are also given to families with at least 2 members (grand parents, parents, children) having voluntary blood donations, depending on concrete times.
Individuals who have remarkable achievements in blood donation mobilization, also get rewards from the local and central authorities. Ceremonies in praise of people and units for their contributions to blood donation will be held on the anniversaries (the Vietnam Red Cross on November 23, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies- IFRC on May 8, Vietnam National Voluntary Blood Donation Day on April 7, World Blood Donor Day on June 14 …).
