Vietnam’s greatest lantern parade in celebration of full-moon festival to take place in Phan Thiet

BTO – As scheduled, the awful lantern parade, which has been recognized as Vietnam’s largest lantern parade by the Vietnam Guinness Book, took place on the night of September 25th (the thirteenth day of lunar August) at Nguyen Tat Thanh square, Phan Thiet city.

Each large-size lantern bears different educational meanings and in different shapes and figures from legendary, national heroic characters to the province’s special symbols featuring for the local achievements in economy, social culture, cultural transport, traditional trades and especially the figure of navy soldiers.

After the opening ceremony, the parade participants made the procession in the glow of 32 large-sized lanterns and nearly 3,000 small-sized candlelit lanterns in various shapes and colors, went through some main streets of Phan Thiet City, namely Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ton Duc Thang, and Tran Hung Dao.

The Mid-autumn festival has become Phan Thiet’s pride and local kids and visitors ‘expectation for watching as the annual Lunar August comes
