Currently, Ms. Kien is promoting to export dragon fruit to 7 countries, including 80 percent of that to China.
Almost all of the dragon fruit exporters in Ham Thuan Nam district are actively purchasing dragon fruit in a bid to help farmers at this hard time. Representative of Son Thuy limited company confirmed that the company is buying about 60-70 tons of dragon fruit to export to Thailand.
Chairman Hai appreciated the local enterprises’ efforts in consumption and exportation of dragon fruit in the face of Wuhan virus outbreak. Mr. Hai expected the local enterprises to keen on accompanying with the dragon fruit growers, searching and expanding export markets. He suggests the companies to expand domestic consumption markets such as: Coopmart, Big C, Lotte, Greenery Department Store.
On the province’s side, Chairman Hai promised to direct the authorities to set up policies in support of enterprises and tackle difficulties for dragon fruit growers at the present. Mr. Hai requested the Department of Agriculture and rural development to recommend farmers to produce the fruit following proper plans and under VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards for sustainable and official exports.
