Phan Thiet-Phu Quy sea route to have one more passenger ship

BTO- Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee lately gave a nod to the Thanh Thanh Phat passenger transport limited company to carry out the project of Quoc Cuong 189 passenger maritime transport services for the sea route of Phan Thiet-Phu Quy and the opposite way.

Department of Planning and Investment has been assigned to grant  investment registration certificate to the company as stipulated. The province’s authority has asked Thanh Thanh Phat company to work with department of Natural Resources and Environment to set up environmental protection plan before implementing the project in accordance with regulations of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

There are now 4 passenger ships operating on the sea route connecting Phan Thiet-Phu Quy and vice versa, including Que Huong 2, Binh Thuan 16, Binh Thuan 18, Phu Quy 07, and middle-speed Hung Phat ship. The total transported passengers in the first half of 2017 reached 59,400 turns of passengers. The would-be Quoc Cuong 189 ship is expected to meet the increasing travel demand of local people and visitors, enhance trading activities between the mainland and Phu Quy island district, contributing to creating favorable conditions for socioeconomic development of the outspost island.
