Over 35,000 poor households entitled to policy-favored loans

BTO – Recently, Vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Hoa chaired over a meeting with the Representative Board of Vietnam Bank for Social Policy (VBSP) to discuss New Year’s targets and missions.

By the end of 2017, the total capital of Binh Thuan VBSP reached VND 2,275 billion, a year-on-year of VND 190 billion. In which, deposit attained VND 227 billion, surpassing 34 percent of the plan. Surplus debts of 14 policy programs of credit loans hit VND 2,268 billion, with the participation of more than 100,000 poor households and near-poor households.

Over the past year, there were over 35,000 poor and near-poor households entitled to the preferential loans. 6.600 poor households overcame the threshold of poor and near-poor households, 42 poor households have new houses, 1.500 laborers have jobs,9,000 students get preferential loans and 23 constructions of fresh water have been built in rural areas.

Addressing the meeting, Vice chairman appraised the achievements made by the VBSP, especially the works of poverty reduction and national target programs of new-style rural construction and civilized urbanization.  

Also at the meeting, Vice chairman urged the VBSP to concentrate on completing the new tasks of the new year, striving for an achievement of credit growth from 8 percent and above, supporting the poor and people living in mountainous and ethnic minority regions on accessing to the State treatment.
