The current section of National highway 1A from Phan Thiet to Dong Nai is too narrow with no median strip. This is the last section of key route to Ho Chi Minh city, so a large number of vehicles uses daily, leading to regular traffic gridlocks, especially when road crashes occur. For that reason, the investment and construction of DPEP is considered as an essential task to meet the increasing demand for safe and fast travelling from and to Binh Thuan, contributing to attracting more investment and catalysing economic development of Binh Thuan and the region.
