BTO – A group of about 10 youth led by Mr. Vo Minh Thai (born in 1977) lately launched a voluntary activity to clean up the beach of Phan Ri Cua, Tuy Phong district with the purpose of improving marine environment and raising the awareness of the locals and visitors about keeping the beach clean. “Phan Ri Cua townlet has a beautiful coastline but its is filled with many kinds of garbage due to uncontrolled discharge from local households, who have not realized harmful impact of human activities on the environment”, shared Thai. For that reason, He has gathered many young people working and leaving in this townlet together take action to save the beach and living environment. Initially, the group members  saved up their money to contribute to the group’s activities.

The group carries out garbage collection twice every Sunday (in the morning and afternoon) and then burn the garbage right on the spot. This practical activity has gradually drawn the attention and support of the locals. It is expected that the group will help local households improve their sense of responsibility for controlling waste disposal, keeping the coastal environment clean and safe.
