Internet users in Binh Thuan make up 38.5 percent of population

BTO- In 2015, the infrastructure system of telecommunications in Binh Thuan has steadily improved amid a considerable competitiveness between internet and telecom service companies. Currently, there are 7 telecom businesses operating in Binh Thuan with approximately 1,682,000 telephone subscribers (142.5 subscribers/100 people on average). The total number of internet subscribers reached 64,000 in 2015 and the conversion rate of internet users is 38.5 percent. Over the past year, telecommunications and cable television providers realized a total turnover of VND 1,580 billion and contributed VND 90 billion to the state budget.

Binh Thuan’s telecommunication sector has set its tasks for the year of 2016 with the following targets:

Number of telephone subcriber: 1,801,800 (including 70,000 land line users) with a density of 143 telephone subscribers per 1000 people.

Number of internet subcribers is expected to reach 66,000 with a conversion rate of internet users is 42 percent.

The rapid development of internet and telecom services requires functional units to enhance the state management on communications services  in order to promote theirs benefits as well as restrain negative impact.
