At the meeting, Ms. Indira López Arguelles briefly introduced a number of achievements of Cuba in terms of health care, medical services, research and development of medicines and vaccines. She also showed her strong impression on Vietnam’s success in controlling and preventing the spread of Covid-19. Consul General Indira López Arguelles hoped to promote advanced medical services of Cuba in Binh Thuan via a cooperation program which can bring experienced physicians and medical experts from Cuba to Binh Thuan to work for public and private hospitals.
According to Mr. Dang Thuc Anh Vu-deputy Director of the provincial Department of Health, cooperation between Binh Thuan and Cuba in health care sector will contribute to improving the quality of health care system in the locality. Currently, Binh Thuan General Hospital has high demand in using doctors specialized in Neurological surgery (neurosurgery) and coronary intervention as it has implemented a project in interventional cardiology . Department of Health will propose a recommendation to the provincial People’s Committee on the cooperation agreement with Cuba in health care development in the future.
