Clean-up Day campaign getting viral among the community

BTO – In the recent years, the so-called “Clean up Day campaign” has gained steam all over the country in general and in Binh Thuan in particular. It is making the a little bit of a better place as local enterprises are calling upon the community to “say No with single-use plastic products” instead of using eco-friendly products.

The Binh Thuan Tourism Association urges the local businesses to put “Clean Up Day” into their monthly action program. Annually, the campaign keens on luring hundreds of volunteers, travel businesses and their staffs to clean up littered areas along the beaches and roads.

At Ham Tien – Mui Ne area, many resorts such as: Victoria, Blue Ocean, Pandanus, etc. simultaneously conduct Clean Up Day, which encourage do-gooders to protect the environment, then sharing images of their “before” and “after” to social media and their websites.

The campaign is reportedly founded by a group of foreigners living in Mui Ne. Their action has become viral on the social media with good effect.

“We Participate in Clean Up Day campaign in the hope that we can join hands to protect the environment, protecting our business climate sustainably”, shared Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan- Manager of Phan Thiet Lotte Mart Supermarket.

Every first Thursday of the month, nearly 100 staffs of Lotte Mart and Ocean Dunes resort are mobilized to collect plastic wastes and trashes along 2-km-coast of Doi Duong, Thuong Chanh, added Mr. Tuan.

The campaign does not only attract entrepreneurs and their staffs, but it also lures the participation of locals and tourists. All participants expressed their happiness when partaking in such meaningful activity.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa – President of Binh Thuan Tourism Association confirmed that the Association has 89 members, which operate in tourism activity. Almost all of the member participate in the Clean Up Day campaign, making it viral by spawning thousands of posts of beautiful images on the internet. Such meaningful activity aims to raise public awareness of environmental protection, towards a better place without plastic and litters.
