Candle lighting ceremony in tribute to heroic martyrs

A candle lighting ceremony was solemnly held at the provincial cemetery (Hong Son commune-Ham Thuan Bac district) on April 19 evening to commemorate the province’s deceased heroes on the 47th anniversary of Binh Thuan Liberation Day (April 19, 1975-2022), and the 47th anniversary of Reunification Day (April 30, 1975-2022).

The ceremony, which was hosted by the Standing committee of the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Branch, was attended by Mr. Duong Van An-member of the Central Party Committee -Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum head of the NA deputies’ delegation of Binh Thuan province, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh-alternate member of the Central Party Committee –deputy secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum chairman of the provincial People’s Council, along with leaders of the provincial people’s committee, committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front, leaders of departments/branches/agencies, people’s armed forces, Vietnamese heroic mothers, youth union members , students and s residents of Ham Thuan Bac district.

Apart from flowers and incense, leaders and youth lit up over 9,000 candles on martyrs’ graves to commemorate the deceased heroes, who laid down their lives for the sake of the Fatherland’s independence and freedom. Under the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy-Secretary of the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union branch delivered a speech to pay tribute to heroic martyrs. He stressed that the event is a meaningful activity of youth to remind them about the patriotic tradition and the contributions of the previous generations for the national liberation and people’ happiness.

On that occasion, the province’s leaders offered 20 presents (each worth VND 1 million) to 20 policy-favored families in Hong Liem and Hong Son communes (Ham Thuan Bac district), and 20 scholarships to students from poor households.
