Deputy secretary of the Binh Thuan province’s HCYU Le Thi Bich Lien affirmed that: “This year’s Earth Hour, the local youth determined to join the whole national and other country’s efforts to keep the environment and cope with climate change for the sake of the community”.
Right after the ceremony of “turning off the power”, apart from the Square area, the lighting systems of some main streets of Phan Thiet such as: Nguyen Tat Thanh, Tran Hung Dao, Thu Khoa Huan, Vo Thi Sau, Ton Duc Thang, etc simultaneously turned off within 1 hour (from 20.30 to 21.30). Under the light of thousands of candles lit by the Youth, exciting art and dance shows performed by local students made the event much more meaningful.
Earlier on the same day, more than 200 youth joined a bike parade in disseminating the slogan of Earth Hour 2016, picking up waste and removing ad panels on some electric power poles of Phan Thiet city.
