Binh Thuan seeks solutions to prevent coastal erosion on Mui Ne-Ong Dia Rocky expanse area

BTO- Leaders of the provincial People’s Committee lately agreed with the plan to set up a project “Studying and assessing the current situation of coastal erosion-sediment, forecasting the trend, and outline an overall resolution to fight against erosion and recover the beaches along the coast of Mui Ne-Ong Dia rocky expanse” in Phan Thiet City.

The plan is made under the suggestion of department of Natural Resources and Environment. Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is responsible for cooperating with functional bodies and localities to form the project then submit to authorities for its implementation.

The provincial People’s Committee noted that the  construction of this project must be implemented in accordance with current conditions of the locality, with long-term and highly feasible solutions. For that reason, department of Agricultire and Rural Development needs to give careful considerations to detailed plans and closely work with relevant agencies to do surveys and make assessment in line with the real situation of coastal erosion on this area. The unit is also asked to make predictions about problems that may arise in the future so that propose the orientations, direction, solutions and implementation.  

The project is expected to be carried out between 2019 and 2020.
