BTO -1,600 young men of Binh Thuan province officially enlisted into the army in hand-over ceremonies held province-wide in the morning of February 24. In this year’s enlistment drive, Phan Thiet city has 200 new-recruits, Ham Thuan Bac district has 190, Ham Thuan Nam 160, Ham Tan 150, La Gi town 155, Duc Linh 190, Tuy Phong 175, Bac Binh 175, Tanh Linh 175, Phu Quy 50. Among 1,600 new servicemen, aged from 18-22, there are 48 Party members, 2 civil servants, 28 juniors of state cadres, 843 ones gaining health condition levels 1 & 2 (making up nearly 50%); 187 ones holding intermediate, college and university degrees. 2016 is the first year of implementing military recruitment under the Amended and Supplemented Law on Military Service. Accordingly, all localities in Binh Thuan province organize Enlistment Festive Day and hand-over ceremonies on the same days (February 23 and February 24 successively). As this is an important political task of the year, the provincial Party Committee and local authorities have focused their efforts on implementing dissemination of Military Service Law and political education among the youth. Enlistment call has been basically prepared, ensuring the pro-activeness of the recruitment, which can be seen in the quality of enlistees, especially in education levels.
