Binh Thuan: Fund for the poor raised VND 7.8 billion

BTO- The provincial Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front recently issued guidelines in the organization of activities during the 2020’a peak month for the poor (October 17-November 18), with the purpose of performing the tasks of raising funds for the poor and maintaining support on building houses for poor house houses in 2020.

Accordingly, those activities include mobilizing local enterprises, organizations, units, and individuals to make donations for “Fund for the poor” at all levels and social security programs in response to the emulation movement “The whole nation join hands for the poor- no one left behind” launched by the Government Prime Minister; organizing activities to raise funds to support poor and near-poor households, people with difficult circumstances, poor people living in outlying areas, islands, and areas affected by natural disasters or environmental incidents.
Reportedly, the funds for the poor at all levels have mobilized over VND 7.8 billion so far, accounting for 83.1% of the whole year’s plan (VND 9.5 billion). In which, the provincial fund realized VND 1.4 billion (64.38%), the funds of districts raised over VND 2.9 billion (81.12%), and funds of communes/wards performed nearly VND 3.5 billion (96.33%).
