Binh Thuan: 72/93 communes obtain “new-style rural area” standards

BTO- According to an updated report from the provincial Steering Committee for building new-style rural areas show that the whole province has 72 out of 93 communes (accounting for 77.4%) being recognized “New-style rural area” standards.

Currently, Binh Thuan has 1 provincial-level cultural center, 9 district-level culture-sports centers (in 10 districts/city/town), and 88 commune-level cultural houses (in 93 communes), with 69 cultural houses meeting requirements of Ministry of Culture-Sports and Tourism. All of 436 hamlets have built cultural houses to serve for sports events, festivals and community activities of local residents. Especially, those cultural institutions have welcomed numerous young citizens and elderly people participating in culture and arts festivals, sports events, community learning activities, training courses for rural labourers…

The movement of building “new rural-style commune” has contributed to improving people’s awareness, preserving and promoting cultural characteristics of ethnic groups, upgrading rural infrastructure, protecting social order and security…., towards building advanced and exemplary new-style communes in rural areas.
