Under the decision, gifts will be divided in two categories of VND600,000 and VND300,000, 1.5 times higher than the values in 2020.
Accordingly, gifts worth VND 600,000 (US$26) each will be presented to people engaging in revolutionary activities before January 1, 1945, and up to the August Revolution in 1945, as well as Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and people honoured with the Hero of the People’s Armed Forces and the Hero of Labour titles during resistance wars.
Wounded soldiers who lost at least 81% of their working capability, along with war veterans who were contaminated with chemical toxics and lost 81% or more of work capability, and relatives of war martyrs will also receive gifts of the same value.
Meanwhile, the gifts worth VND300,000 each will be delivered to wounded soldiers who have lost 80% of their working capacity or less, war veterans who were contaminated with chemical toxics and lost 80% of their capacity or less, and former revolutionaries who were either arrested or imprisoned during the resistance wars for national salvation.
Presenting Tet gifts to revolution contributors every Lunar New Year has become an annual tradition in Vietnam, demonstrating the State and people’s gratitude to those who dedicated to the struggle for national independence and reunification.
