Four goalkeepers,
nine defenders, 10 midfielders and six strikers are among the players that have
been summoned.
Becamex Binh Duong, Quang Ninh Coal and Song Lam Nghe An have sent four players
each. Hoang Anh Gia Lai’s trio of Nguyen Cong Phuong, Nguyen Tuan Anh and Luong
Xuan Truong, who are on loan contracts competing in Japan and the Republic of
Korea (RoK), are also on this list.
Their former teammates Vu Van Thanh and Nguyen Van Toan will join them.
The national team will gather on September 24 in HCM City where they will play
three friendly matches against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)
and Indonesia early next month.
They will then fly to RoK for a short training course on October 15-29, before
returning to Hanoi for intensive training until November 15.
The Vietnam Football Federation has scheduled two more friendlies for them
before they depart for Myanmar for the Cup, which is scheduled from November 11
to December 17.
Vietnam are in Group B with Malaysia, Cambodia, East Timor, Brunei and the host
nation.
Group A comprises co-hosts the Philippines, defending champions Thailand,
Singapore and Indonesia.
Vietnam are targeting a place in the finals.
