Accordingly, the provincial Agro-Forestry-Fisheries quality assurance department (hereafter called the department) takes responsibility for setting up and developing 12 safe agriculture & aquaculture products supply chains across the province.
It is expected that by 2020, at least 50% of key agricultural & aquaculture products that can pose high risk to food safety & hygiene will be managed within food supply chains.
In 3 year-period (2015-2017), the department has successfully formed and maintained 15 agriculture &aquaculture product supply chains, with 2 dragon fruit supply chains with a yearly productivity of 6,000 tons, 2 sterculia foetida products supply chains with 100 tons of raw material/year, 4 processed seafood supply chains (824 tons of dried seafood and 21,900 tons of frozen seafood per year), 5 fish sauce supply chains (11.3 millions liters/year), and 2 safe & clean vegetables supply chains. Besides, the unit has also given support to the connection of other 18 agriculture & aquaculture product supply chains. In 2018, 6 agriculture & aquaculture product supply chains are under implementation through the assistance of 342,424 QR code smart stamps of traceability for 4 facilities engaging in safe agriculture & aquaculture product supply chains.
The propaganda for food safety and hygiene has been carried out regularly in diversified forms at all levels, contributing to improving public awareness of ensuring food safety & hygiene as well as abiding by the law on food safety &hygiene.
